The GE TED134050 is a 50A, 3-pole E150-frame molded case circuit breaker with bolt-on mounting, rated 480VAC and built for GE A-Series and Spectra Series panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers.

This is the mid-range branch and feeder size in GE's E150 line, providing fixed thermal-magnetic Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) protection with an 18kA interrupting rating at 480VAC. The bolt-on connection torques directly to the bus, which is why it is specified for motor control centers and other high-vibration environments where a plug-on breaker could loosen over time. The unit is both HACR and HID rated, covering multi-motor HVAC equipment and high-intensity discharge lighting circuits, and supports reverse feed. TCAL12 load lugs are included.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the TED134050 and the TED136050?

Voltage class. The "4" in TED134050 means a 480V maximum rating; the "6" in TED136050 means 600V. Both are 50A, 3-pole bolt-on E150 breakers.

How does the TED134050 differ from the THED136050?

Interrupting capacity. The TED is rated 18kA at 480VAC, while the THED (high-interrupting variant) is rated 25kA at 480VAC and 65kA at 240VAC. The frames and mounting are the same.

What is HID rating and why does it matter?

An HID rating means the breaker is listed to switch high-intensity discharge lighting loads, which draw sustained high inrush during warm-up that can trip a standard breaker.

Can the TED134050 be used in a motor control center?

Yes. The bolt-on connection is well suited to MCC buckets and other vibration-prone installations, and it is listed for GE A-Series and Spectra assemblies.

Are load lugs included?

Yes. TCAL12 lugs ship with the breaker and accept #14–3 AWG copper or #12–1 AWG aluminum conductors.

Can the TED134050 be reverse fed?

Yes. Reverse feed is permitted with no line/load marking restriction.

Is the 50A trip rating adjustable?

No. The trip unit is fixed and non-interchangeable.

Is the TED134050 UL listed?

Yes. It is UL 489 listed, CSA certified to C22.2 No. 5, and CE marked.
