The GE THED136050 is a 50A, 3-pole E150-frame molded case circuit breaker with bolt-on mounting and high interrupting capacity, rated 600VAC for GE A-Series and Spectra Series panelboards.

Fifty amps is one of the most-specified three-phase feeder sizes, and the THED version of it is what you install when the fault-current study rules out a standard TED. Rated 65kA at 240VAC and 25kA at 480VAC, it clears faults a standard-interrupting device could not safely handle — typical near the service entrance or downstream of a large transformer. Protection is fixed thermal-magnetic with Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) functions. The rugged E150 frame, quick-make/quick-break contacts, trip-free mechanism, and common trip make it a durable choice for demanding industrial environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the THED136050 and the TED136050?

Interrupting capacity. The THED is rated 65kA at 240VAC and 25kA at 480VAC; the TED is 18kA. They share the same E150 frame and bolt-on footprint, so the THED is a direct upgrade where fault current is higher.

What is the interrupting rating of the THED136050?

65kA at 240VAC, 25kA at 480VAC, 18kA at 600VAC, and 10kA at 250VDC and 500VDC.

What does the H in THED stand for?

High interrupting. GE inserts the H into the base TED designation to identify the higher-AIC variant.

What panelboards accept the THED136050?

GE A-Series and Spectra Series panelboards and compatible switchboards using bolt-on mounting.

Why choose bolt-on over plug-on mounting?

A bolted bus connection resists loosening from vibration and thermal cycling, which is why it is standard in industrial panels, switchboards, and motor control centers.

Can the THED136050 be reverse fed?

Yes. Reverse feed is permitted with no line/load marking restriction under UL 489.

Is the 50A trip rating adjustable?

No. The trip unit is fixed and non-interchangeable.

Is the THED136050 UL listed?

Yes. It is UL 489 listed, CSA certified to C22.2 No. 5, and HACR rated.
