The Square D HJA36040 is a 40A, 3-pole PowerPacT H-Frame molded case circuit breaker with an I-Line plug-in line-side connection, rated 600VAC and built for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards.
This thermal-magnetic breaker delivers Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) protection with a 65kA interrupting rating at 480VAC and 100kA at 240VAC. Unlike the smaller frame sizes, the 40A HJA offers an adjustable magnetic trip, letting you raise the instantaneous pickup to ride through motor inrush without nuisance tripping while keeping the thermal element fixed at 40A. Its current-limiting construction cuts peak let-through energy during a fault, and the H-Frame retrofits into the same I-Line mounting space as the discontinued FC36040 and FH36040. HID and HACR rated for lighting and HVAC branch circuits.
